This sensor assembly is a very common one used in many foundry application which necessitates the need to measure and control high temperatures. It consists of a thermocouple element housed in a ceramic sheath combined with a stainless steel sheath for mounting and terminated within the termination head which can be Aluminium or Stainless Steel.
